| MJC SHOWHAND!Mahjong Challenge II cum Xmas Party!
The place was set according to the theme of 'Casino Turbulence (Du3 Chang3 Feng1 Yun2), ShowHand!' with dice-decorated xmas wreath & pokercards streamers etc. Attendees were advised to turn up as 'Super Gambler' (with super powers/ props) that translate into 'Best Dressed' and 'Most Effort' awards, won by XT and KJ respectively!
Next up~ Next TOP MODEL (NTM) for JSRS 2009 events! Everyone including those who did not dress up were in the running for NTM, based on the face-shots taken the moment they step through the doorway... unsuspectedly. Hence when we announce that we are now showing the photos on TV, we expect 'shocked' faces... Alas! Our oversight- all these ppl only pretend with exclamations of 'aiyo, wat?!', actually all 'tat malu' (not shy) one, secretly enjoy seeing themselves and all others on tv screen. KT emerged from Top 5 as the NTM of JSRS 09 events~ winning for herself a beauty kit and 1 yr JSRS modelling contract!!! As she mentioned: Models do come in all shapes and sizes!
"Couture!" (Koo-cheer)~says ZT in a professional modelicious attitude.
KT's winning Best Shot!

'Lucky 7' photo hunt is next where teams plunged into the challenging tasks of seeking the correct object according to a set of 7 close-ups pics of objects. First team to come back wins! When random clues of positions of objects were shouted out, the kiasu teams will pitter-patter and scramble into the suggested room to seek the object, gleefully shoving other team members away like pancakes.. apparently the winning team sent spies all over the place and sneak peeks from other teams...
'Poker Match' requires brain power of teams to remember 104 cards (2 sets of poker cards) and match pairs. Team with most (schemes and) pairs of cards wins!
MJC (MahJong Challenge) is in its 3rd year running (bi-annual event) and when finals started, it was a break for non-MJC attendees. MJC TOP 4 (BR, BZ, YY, KJ) were geared to go when time counted down the moment dice was tossed. BZ, defending champion of 1st MJC is back, but failed to clinch the title as BR managed to 5 tai Zi Mo in the LAsT 10 SecOnDs!!! Quite a spectacular win!
Something worth a mention: ZT, back with a vengence, although did not squeeze into TOP 4 this time, had made his mark in previous MJC by hu-ing in the last 3 seconds during semi-finals and was nominated for Best Actor in being-slow-and-clumsy-after-he-won-so-as-to-drag-time... Instead this time YY won a title in the Most Uproarious Win ( a 4 tai that causes lots of shoutings). XT got a consolation prize in being runner up after top 4. Also, it's really great to have MJC professionals like JX back in the game, tgt with new challengers. Once again, congrats to BR the new MJC II Champion! (who was constantly under attacks from a disgruntled audience who were unhappy with him being the 'model' for the past yr JSRS events...)
Last but not least, 'Steal a Gift', where everyone can either choose a present from a stack, or steal others' presents-in-hand, was lots of laughter. Everyone was put to test of acting on how well they can pretend to be possessive over their lousy present & vice versa. Lots of nonsense gifts and extremely enthusiastic audience! Congrats to LL for winning the Grand Prize! & hope all rest of you found ur gifts, erm, useful...
We also surprised ZT with a Brownie Tower Cake who's birthday happens to be the next day... He is so so touched....
What is Xmas without real presents?! Hence to round up the night, everyone dipped into a jar and lucky-draw for the tagged $10 gift exchange! Another successful JSRS event! Thanks all for coming and we look forward to the next 'Super TOOT' party! Look out for our newly appointed Next Top Model!
Signing off with RS handmade wreath specially for this event!
| New MacBookCollected my Aluminium 13" MacBook yesterday. Excited yet resistant cos I've never been a MacBook user. Remember when I was in Uni first year, in one of the modules we had to learn to use iMac. The first generation that looked like an egg shaped PC...now everything is flat, small and light. Still trying to get use to it. Btw I am now blogging from my older PC (1.5 years old) while backing up some stuff so that can pass this laptop to my mum. Yes she is more excited then me cos she wants to use it to watch drama serials and play games online. And she already got her tenant to agreeing to share with her his wireless access... So savvy right? Can't believe it..... Problem with this MacBook now is that there is no Office and no Photoshop. Anyone with these softwares please lend me k.... Singtel's mio TV modem sucks! It didn't give me the wireless connection strength compared to the old one. After the service man came for the 2nd time, he left a note saying that if it still doesn't work, I should connect directly to the cable. Then it would defeat the purpose being wireless!!! I have now used back the old modem. I need to complain. | | |
| MacBookSingtel is giving me a MacBook White with my broadband signup. I am now considering the optional upgrade to a Aluminum MacBook for $499.

| Back from Bali We're back from Bali! Too many wonderful memories. Everything was good from the places we visit, our accomodations, the pools, the food the people... oh and the spa too... Hahaha....
Was a bit worried during the trip due to the execution of the 3 Bali bombers while we were there. Good thing everything was safe. More pictures in facebook...
